Who: Open to the community.
What: A festival dedicated to the memory of the Fabulous Killjoys.
Where: Hyper Thrust, Zone 6.
When: June 12, 2020.
June 12, 2019. A day that will live in infamy in the Zones.
Most Killjoys were crushed when, just a year ago, Dr. Death Defying came over the radio airwaves of WKIL to tell the Desert that all four of the Fabulous Killjoys were killed. The memorial service last year was held at the Nest in Zone 3, as many more would follow in the year to come. Despite being a funeral of sorts, though, it was anything but somber. Killjoys celebrated the memory of the four men who started it all long into the night - a special appearance was even made by Mad Gear himself to close out the party.
The year went on. Killjoys were born, made, and ghosted. People got on with their lives.
But now it's the one-year anniversary, and the time has come once again to remember one's elders. A memorial service is being thrown at Hyper Thrust, with top-billing players such as Mau5keteer and Mad Gear and the Missile Kid. You may even get to spot one of your favorite radio DJs like Dr. Death Defying or Red Hood.
But beware. IDs aren't checked, and there are moles everywhere.

Date: 2013-06-13 05:39 am (UTC)[He only sort of understands the word parents, though he can't ever remember having something like that. They have a long way to go with his speech, especially if they're going to get him to communicate with others that don't really know the 413 lingo yet.]
What?
Spirit attempts to teach...
Date: 2013-06-13 05:56 am (UTC)[It's a good thing that Spirit had wanted to become a teacher before having to take to the Zones - it's given her an insane amount of patience. Tapping her finger to her lip she thinks of a proper explanation, taking in consideration his limited vocabulary.
Though he's come a long way since she had met him.
She peers down the line again, and seeing as they aren't moving squats down and begins drawing in the dirt with her finger. First she draws a stick girl, then a stick man and woman. Between the man and woman she draws a heart, and then a line connecting them to the girl. Making sure she has 413's attention she points at the stick girl, then the stick couple.]
So, for the sake of this, that girl right there is me and these two are my parents, okay? They were the ones who raised me and took care of me before... Well...
[She trails off, leaning forward to draw two more sets of stick couples, one connected to her stick mom and the other to her stick dad.]
So grandparents are your parents parents. Everyone's got them.

He points to himself, raising his eyebrows.]
Me?

Date: 2013-06-14 10:41 pm (UTC)But... But sometimes people die.
[She draws a decisive 'X' through her stick grandparents.]
They leave you alone and you're not always prepared and sometimes you don't even remember them because they left when you were really little...
Other times - well - even if their alive they may as well be dead because you'll never see them again.
[She draws an 'X' through her stick parents.
It's not a very good explanation, she knows. She wants to assure 413 that his Mom and Dad are out there somewhere looking for him, but she can't promise that.
Instead though she offers him a smile.]
But see, the thing about the Zones is you form new families. So you and me?
[She draws a smaller stick figure against hers, then a circle around it.]
We're family. Like... Oh what's that line... Ohana! We're a ohana, and that means nobody gets left behind or forgotten!
[With a sheepish laugh she stands, wiping her hand on her torn jeans.]
... Okay that was a really bad explanation. Did I just confuse you more?
